If you predict to fly at least the same amount during the next period with AY/OW then I would go for it. You get the upgrades (4 now and 4 at the beginning of the next period) which would be for me already enough reason to do it. Lounge access is for me another big plus.

But I think this is not the right place to get a "don't do this" answer.
