Regarding the UK codes, for
Jenbel and others, and how they get the last 2 characters (after E for Europe and G for Great Britain), it was divided up geographically:
EGAA etc for N Ireland
EGBA etc for Midlands
EGCA etc for North West
EGKA etc for South Coast
EGLA etc for London
EGSA etc for E Anglia
and so on
and it was determined that the major airport in each region would have double letters for memory ease. So EGAA for Belfast, EGBB for Birmingham, EGCC for Manchester, EGKK for Gatwick, EGLL for Heathrow, EGSS for Stansted. So why EGSH for Norwich; well it's in East Anglia, so EGS-, and used to be RAF Horsham St Faith. So that's the H.
Hmmm. Anorak off ?
