Strictly speaking no -- because boarding stops 30 minutes prior to departure and you must be checked in 60 minutes prior to departure (international), so exact 24 hours change could not be done per rules.
There have been occasional reports of airport agents doing a "SDC" / free change just outside the 24 hour time period, but probably risky to count on.
So SDC on once a day flights is effectively a no.
However, if you can SDC to a later alternative routing (allowed) and then later to the desired non-stop, you may achieve the desire outcome -- with the risk of two successful SDCs.
