Let me understand this correctly...
When someone comes to FT and says "I can't get contiguous seats for myself and my three year old on our rock-bottom discount E fare", the response is "too bad, you bought the cheapest ticket, you were told the restrictions, now live with it or bribe a passenger to sit in your crummy middle seat".
But when someone comes to FT and says "I can't get contiguous seats for myself and my bride on our honeymoon flight on our rock-bottom discount E fare", the response is "call Delta, maybe they will bend the rules for you" and "ask the gate agent or flight attendant" and "ask other people if they will switch".
I don't get it. An adult can't sit by herself on a rock-bottom E fare, but parents with kids need to plan better, too bad, just STFU?
I say in both cases, it matters not how special you think you are, when you buy a rock-bottom E fare and ignore the restrictions and don't want to buy another ticket where you can select better seats, TOO BAD! Just stay home if a middle seat is unacceptable!
