I do like the 3 Suiter because of it's separate compartments which means I could pack a suit/sport jacket on one side and my GF could pack her dress on the other. I did check on airline regulations and most of them consider the 32" 3 Suiter oversized so I'm sticking with the 29". We are flying Lufthansa to Greece and checked they have a limit on both size and weight that the 32" doesn't meet. However on our second leg to Dubai, Emirates only have a weight limit. And it's good to know the 29" isn't too big to fit in a locker because we'll be staying the night in Athens before flying to Thira in the morning and thought of stowing heavy luggage at the airport overnight.
I have done some search online about the Topas and the collective opinion seem to be that it'll get some damage no matter what. I am a little concerned about the Salsa equivalent though as I've seen some crack pretty bad. I can live with a few dings and scratches but something as severe as a crack is something else. Would you recommend going for a 32" Salsa? Really appreciate the suggestions.

Generally I use 3 Suiter 32" for the trip over two weeks. I usually use one compartment on the right and the middle one on my way out and use the left compartment to fill with gifts and souvenirs when I come home. This systems works great and the 3 suiters design makes it easy to organize.
I like it is so much so I bought another one in 29". The 32" is slightly over some airlines' baggage measurement (AA,DL and UA) though I have never had any issue to check in.
That said, I usually fly international premium cabins so don't know if the domestic flights would be more picky on the size.
I like to bring to 29" to Japan as hotel rooms there are smaller. Salsa Deluxe 3 Suiter especially 32" need a lot of space to operate. I also found out 32" won't fit in the largest storage locker at Narita or Haneda airport. It would be a pain if you need to leave you bags at the airport and bring a carry on to do a short getaway to the adjacent countries eg Korea, Taiwan and China etc.. 29" would fit in perfectly.
Topas 32" looks gorgeous but not as practical as Salsa Deluxe 3 suiter. For every five times I carry Salsa Deluxe, I probably would only use Topas once. Topas are easy to get damaged and a lot of airport staff are just not that sophisticated to handle Topas. Now I only carry Topas to a couple of more civilized counties....
