Yeah, it seems odd. I assume they've temporarily boosted the prices up considerably to try to get people to buy the 'special rate' tickets which were actually higher than normal. Right now, it's cheaper for me to get the FRA-MLE tickets with return tickets to FRA from LHR. Crazy thing is, the FRA-MLE ticket is a about £1600, cheaper than the LHR-MLE ticket used to be and includes a third party (BA) short haul ticket in the price so the profit for Sri Lanka Airlines has to be much less. I'm going to give it a few days and if there's still no change, I'll likely just go with that route. It'll cost me a little more than before, we'll waste half a day flying to FRA and back and Sri Lanka air will make less of a profit but that's just how it is. The current ticket prices for LHR-MLE are absurd; BA's overly expensive non stop route to MLE is cheaper!
