People lie, exaggerate and abuse things and then they tell their friends about it - before you know it United will become a bank instead of an airline.
Perhaps becoming a bank is not a bad thing if (and this is a big if) they have these sorts of things hooked up to get a list of things to fix. Call it an extesion of the United Bug Bounty.
A good company would take this as an opportunity to decide what to fix, and may be cheaper in the end from a diagnostic standpoint. A bad company will print money like a bank. Time will tell.
