On demand resolution is better for everyone. I wonder if this is an extension to the app that the flight attendants had on my flight the other day to Hawaii. I did a seat swap from F to Y (switched with a family member) but at time of food serving in Y the flight attendant was still able to look me up by last name, validate my status and original seat, and other items regarding my GS status. Pretty cool system.
