I absolutely agree that reprinting from the kiosks is the best option.
If reprinting is not feasible for whatever reason, I think clicking add on the boarding pass texted to her and then having it on the lock screen is easier than getting the image up, the right size, and the right brightness. The great thing about iOS Wallet is you don't need to know what it is, where the app is, etc.
