Jiuzhaigou Park Bus: the early buses in the morning that go up the Rize Valley to the Virgin Forest will let people off at earlier stops but you have to tell the driver on the way up; he won't automatically stop. In my 1-day visit, I had no interest in anything beyond Arrow Bamboo Lake and asked to get off there so I could hike down to Nuorilang. Four Chinese on my same bus asked to get off at Mirror Lake. Our requests were granted. Other visitor anecdotes have led me to believe this is routine practice, not the exception.
