I had a refund from BA to a Chase card that I had closed almost 6 months earlier.
I called Chase. Even though my credit card number had been completely deleted from their system, they were able to tell me that:
--BA had provided the refund
--Chase had returned the refund to BA.
--BA had tried the required one time to issue a credit and could now refund by check or other means.
--the ref number of the Chase refund return to BA
--the date of the refund return to BA
--the telephone number to call at BA
I have requested a check from BA and it is in process.
My guess is that if Chase cannot find a refund to your card then Air Asia probably did not process it. Chase had no trouble finding my refund and providing the above information.
