I am a bit new with AA miles, as I was never using my AB miles on AA metal yet.
I want to redeem AB miles for AA flights from SFO/LAX to HNL and back in October this year.
There seems to be almost no availablity on any flight, and even from/to the other Hawaiian islands. Is this usual for AA? I understand Hawaii is always busy and high revenue for Airlines, but it strikes me that DL and UA both have good award availabltity, and AA not at all.
Are they sometimes giving back seats in the MileSAAver allotments a couple of months before departure? If chances are almost zero I would rather use DL miles or just book regular fares....
