One possible negative was that I was on the side of the main street, which apparently is used by emergency vehicles at night - I could see flashing lights go by if I didn't close the curtains and could hear the alarm too. (It didn't bother me, I'm a pretty heavy sleeper, but I could see others getting bothered by it).
This is why I always ask for a room overlooking the courtyard in the middle, or failing that the rear, which is less noisy as it has less traffic. I have been staying here regularly for almost 10 years and hardly ever get a good sleep if they give me a room at the front. The front overlooks the Edgware Road and gets traffic all night.
