Tell me about it. I had my card account blocked when I had faced an issue like that and they had made no attempt to call me. When I said can I pay by wire transfer to reduce, what they called exposure, they said no as my account was under investigation. 48hrs they still had my account under investigation and I was then told that I was receiving a letter telling me what they proposed next. I never received the letter, but the account was free from a temporary block less than a day later. Four weeks after that, just before my next bill on my Platinum Charge card, my account was blocked again and they said it was because they felt I was a credit risk. I wonder what six years of faultless spending and payment history can do for a person when trying to establish a relationship with AmEx. Recently my credit card have had their limits reduced as well by nearly 23% across the board. I think from what they explained, they consider certain people, with cetain jobs, under certain economic conditions a bigger credit risk. I guess some are like tech stocks in the 90's.
