I have a LATAM Platinum status. I'm US based and I'm going to take US domestic flights operated by AA next month. Could anyone answer to the following questions?
1) If I collect LATAM km on my flight, will the km be accumulated based on the kms (miles) flown or based on dollars paid? For instance, if I fly 10,000kms by AA flight, will I get 10,000km + Platinum bonus on my LATAM account?
2) If I decide to accumulate miles on another FFP, do I still get OW Sapphire merits by showing the digital status card? (Lounge Access, Priority Boarding, etc.)

My answers, i am latam black based in US.
1. Yes, you get based on kilometers/miles and depending on the rate you will get 50% of the distance in the latam program (ex-lan)
2. Yes, but (big but), AA for instance, doesn't pick my emeral status and only puts saphire, so i always have to show my card and push them to do it right in which lounge access i have. The rest is ok to use. Your ticket will say saphire, the card is more a marketing thing, not worth much.
Just be aware that the arrangments AA has with other airlines locally (such as Alaska, etc.) won't be good for you as you are only OW member there not AA.
