Royal Laurel not "best business" as OMAAT states
I went in with high expectations, given Lucky at Onemileatatime had very glowing remarks of Eva. So was my flight just off, or was his? My guess is the bloggers flights are usually off, especially the famous ones, as they probably get better treatment.
Nobody walked me to my seat, but I didn't see anybody else get that treatment, and I think Lucky got walked to his seat just cause he is a prominent blogger.
There is a lack of attention to detail, like having headphones (I had to ask for them, somehow my seat didn't have it), clearing table (I was obviously done. If they couldn't tell by the fact I hadn't touched any more of the leftover food in 10 minutes maybe the fact I put my napkin on the table? But had to ask them to clear it, at which point they asked if I wanted dessert), listening to what the passenger is actually saying (I asked for a bottle of water and to have my bed made. The water came. No bed).
The service: they need to choose a style. If you want to attentively wait on a customer (in the style of Japanese airlines) you need to have better crew who watch their movements. If you want to wait til the passenger calls you you need to actually monitor the flight attendant button. They do neither well.
The food: disgusting. Well, basically economy food in a fancier place-setting. I'd rather eat in the lounge. Or after the flight.
The interior: cannot compare to China Airlines, which has a pretty cool interior. The seat is also not done well, as you cannot really see the TV screen when you have to stow it, and there is no stowage place for anything (and they are pretty strict about putting even a small bag up in the overhead, instead of in front of you).
Anybody have a vastly different experience?
