I stayed at the Conrad Osaka on June 20-22 on the tail end of a business trip. As noted above the hotel is absolutely stunning. The view is magnificent, the decor tastefully done, etc. I was even more impressed with the staff than the view though. They were unfailingly courteous, helpful, and generally speaking, a joy to interact with.

I initially arrived at about 11 AM from my previous hotel, and I had not expected to do anything other than drop my bags off. When I arrived in the ground floor entrance lobby I was greeted by a member of the staff, who took my bags, checked my name against a list of arrivals for that day, called upstairs and let me know that a room was already ready for me. She escorted me to the elevators, let me know that check on was on the 40th floor and sent me on my way. Upon arriving on the 40th floor I was greeted by an escort who walked me to the check in desk, with some notes about the view and the lobby artwork as we walked.

Upon arriving at the check-in desk, I was welcomed again, my Diamond status was noted and I was thanked for my loyalty. I was informed that a King Executive room was available immediately (I had booked the basic deluxe king) and that if I was willing to wait a couple of hours a King Executive Suite would actually be available. Since I hadn't expected a room to be ready I had no issue waiting for the suite!

Upon my return from visiting Osaka Castle I was greeted by name by the ground floor lobby staff, who again walked me to the elevators, and apparently called ahead while I was on my way up, as I was again greeted at the elevator and walked to the check in desk. Because I had been there earlier and taken care of the major details they already had everything setup and ready for me. I picked up my room key and was escorted to my suite on the 34th floor. The suites are 100 sqm (bigger than my college apartment by far) and very comfortable. Immediately inside the front door is a small entry way with some artwork in it, and the door to the "powder room", going around the corner from the entry way the room opens up into the large sitting room with a beautiful view from the floor to ceiling windows. There is also a branch off of the entry way that goes down a large closet space (where my bags had already been placed) and into the main bathroom, all of which can be sectioned off by sliding doors. The bedroom is accessible via two entrances off of the sitting room (again with sliding doors) and besides the king sized bed includes a comfortable reading chair positioned next to the windows, a sizable vanity with built in lighting, and two entrances to the bathroom. My rubber duck was waiting in the middle of the bed when I arrived. My escort told me it was specially designed just for the Conrad Osaka, so you can't get one anywhere else. The antique looking key inside it is really a nice look.

The bathroom pretty much matches those above in terms of shower and tub, no real difference there.

The turn down service team came by around 6:30 PM while I was working at the desk, and I let them go ahead rather than asking them to come back later. When I went into the bedroom I found a small stuffed Conrad bear waiting for me on my pillow (black with red trim).

Afternoon tea, evening drinks, and breakfast in the executive lounge were all top notch. Breakfast was a nice mix of western and Japanese options. Based on the number of other guests I saw in the lounge during my stay I don't believe the hotel was very full.

There is a spa/fitness center/pool available on the 38th floor, which actually has very generous open hours compared to some other hotels (6AM - 10 PM for the pool), and they offer equipment for use as needed, most of it complimentary. The pool is a beautiful 3-lane 20m pool with a great view out the windows towards the other Festival City tower. I made use of the pool on both days of my stay.

What really stood out to me during my stay was the staff and how helpful and gracious they were. American hotels really need to take some lessons from their international counterparts on how treat guests.

I've got some pictures from the suite that I will post later if people are interested. If you have any questions I will be happy to try and answer them.
