You may be thinking of Hilton....Making a reservation through an intermediary (third party) does not have any effect on your ability to earn points or stay credit at Marriott hotels....currently the only rates which do earn credit are: Marriott Associate rates, Wholesaler Rates, Fam Rates, and MR Redemptions (I could be forgetting a really obscure rate too)
