Well, it became a moot question. On the day I need to fly, there are two Virgin flights; either would have worked. Both the earlier and the later had Y seats for $169. But the earlier one had an F seat for $249, while the later one's F seats were going for $849.

That's a pricing scheme I fail to understand.

Anyway, the $80 differential was a bargain and I grabbed the earlier flight's F seat.
