I flew from JFK>DOH>NBO return in April/May, took my 88 year old mom and had her fly to BEY(to visit friends) while I was in Kenya. I am a single woman.
The DOH airport is absolutely the most amazing airport I have ever transited in and I have traveled all over Europe,the US,Canada,etc.
Gracious Arab hospitality in the lounges. Got a concierge service to look after my frail mom while I had to connect before she did and she was well taken care of.
DOH is a lot nicer airport than DXB(and it is not shabby or dodgy either).
Don't be concerned at all.
