very poor check in experience last night.
No recognition of status, so asked "oh yes, I can see you are diamond do you want me to go over your benefits?" I declined. I then asked whether I'd be upgraded "you haven't as you checked in online". I replied that this wasn't a reason for not being upgraded. The member of staff then checked and said no rooms were available. I checked the app and they were still selling deluxe rooms and junior suites. She got her supervisor who provided a variety of excuses:
they don't upgrade twin rooms
I selected an accessible room and therefore they couldn't upgrade me (I only booked this as it was all that was available on the app and I told them they could've emailed to check)
The rooms showing on the app don't exist
He offered to get his manager but I was already so late and tired that I refused.
10 mins later someone phones my room and offers to move me to a queen so I at least have one bed rather than two. No actual upgrade though.
I really don't mind them not giving an upgrade if they are full, but please be upfront and don't wheel out several poor excuses.
