What does the expiration of your US visa have to do with transiting in CDG?

If you were doing India>USA, then yes, this would be a problem, but not the way around.

When you arrive in CDG, you will not go through passport control and will stay in the international area, so no one would even know that your US visa has expired.

In any case, the best source of information for you will be the airline taking you from USA to India via CDG (AF I presume), because they are the ones responsible in case of problems in CDG...

Other people might tell you there was (or there was not) a problem, but omitting details that mean their case was different from yours. It can give a hint though.
