Now what you might be able to do is book it ABQ-PDX(stopover)-ccc-PDX, if you had another future trip planned to ccc (a third city), and then buy the initial PDX-ABQ leg as a separate ticket when your plans firm up or now and cancel the PDX-ABQ ticket if you don't use it (you don't have to pay the cancellation fee right away, or at all if the cost is less than the $125 cancellation fee).
