BA are marking it up in the cancellation as due to adverse weather (rather than "late incoming aircraft"), however that can be safely ignored then.
The Gold line have managed to rebook me onto another service tomorrow, however as expected nobody (in EC or CR) knows what the "within reason" limits are for hotels at GVA... I look forward to some fun later then when I put in a claim.
Yes they are getting quite a pasting on Twitter. Not sure why they don't put up a general proactive message like Easyjet do (although I haven't checked that the latter have done so either today). Various flights 3-4 hours delayed in the mid day section thus the reactionary issue.
I had the same "within reason" from the Gold Line re a Toulouse cancellation last year (French ATC) - the guy said "just don't go to The Ritz"!
