MH didn't allow last-minute booking before June 10. Their previous GDS (Sita) zeroes out all inventory about 3-4 hours before the scheduled departure time. MH switched over to Amadeus June 10 and is now able to book flights until departure.
Having that said, if you are planning to travel around this week or next, it is indeed full because of Eid/Raya holidays this weekend
Yeap, was expecting it to be busy during the holyday period. However my experience these past weeks was that Economy seats will be unavailable to book on same day (especially flights between West & East M'sia) , while actual load is only around half.
Forced to get a full fare C , flexible Business ticket at least 4 times now while there are plenty of empty seats in Economy.
