theres not a reasonable sized city in the us that gives two craps about automobile break ins. This isn't special to Oakland or anywhere in alameda County. I've spent a massive amount of time parking in west Oakland and around fruitville station. Never had breakin issues there either.
Either way. Park here. You'll be as fine as you'd be to park in any other major city, and you'll be as safe as you can be in the garage at the hyatt.
