It has been said elsewhere on this forum that in the event of a delayed US-bound flight that departs after US Customs closes, AC won't post the delay because they don't want you trapped outside customs if you don't show up before they close.
I was trapped in the air on an inbound A/C. The outbound delay would have worked in my favor had the bedtime of the border guards not been hit.
