I was pretty PO'd, because Marriott started the 80K point bonus about a week after I applied for the card under a 40K point bonus (plus 7.5K for an AU) which was what was being offered at the time I linked my SPG account with Marriott Rewards right after the acquisition finalized.

So I figure that I left at least $300 worth of points on the table by applying for my card a week too early.
