The machines are in a sorry state and their sensors are already busted. They are supposed to stop working when their roll is empty. This isn't an uncommon issue unfortunately.
Luckily this gen of machines aren't intended to stay for much longer.
Aren't these the "new" machines? I remember the ones a year or two ago at YVR & YYC that were always broken. These seem much faster, minus, of course, the printing issues I've had recently.
