Beware: NO Lounge Access or Points for Star Alliance Gold

Aegean has changed all domestic routes to "Olympic", which they claim is not part of Star Alliance. As such, they do not offer points or lounge access on these routes to Star Alliance members - only to their own Miles&Bonus.

I booked a flight from Europe to Santorini, connecting in Athens. I booked 1 tickets on the Aegean website, and flew Aegean metal the entire way, serviced by Aegean crew. The flight from ATH to JTW was under an "Olympic" code, and I was issued an Olympic boarding pass, with my Star Alliance tier and membership number.

Even though I booked on Aegean, flew Aegean metal the entire way, had priority Star Gold boarding at the gate, and my Star Alliance Gold status on my boarding pass, Aegean refused lounge access and does not issue points.

They're happy to take = business from Star, but not give the benefit.

Given the domestic competition, there is no reason for Star Alliance members to fly Aegean.
