I have had a few times heading to B gates where i could be dropped off at the airport, and through Security to the gate in < 5 minutes.

I think the only thing this does, is to add a 5 minute walk (C --> B) in addition to the time to get through Security (making the assumption that the PRE line will still be small though now in C).
