In that situation wouldn't you just go to the gate of your regularly scheduled flight and ignore the standby for the RJ flight?
However if you clear the standby and then miss the flight I'm not sure you'll still be confirmed on the original flight. I know wiyh DL if you get confirmed from standby and then miss the flight your later flight will be cancelled, due to noshow.
