but getting the rental contract definitely occurs at the same time as getting the keys and not upon exiting.
Good point about putting the note on the dash to stop any employees trying to do anything with it!
If that's the case, you should be fine. Only problem might be at the exit gate (if there is one), but you can probably talk your way past that.
