I applied for the Wyndham card already having 4 other Barclay cards, Choice opened in 2015 not much on it, Jet Blue Plus Dec. 2016, Aviator opened Jan 2017 and Barclays World Arrival + opened May 2017. ( all actively used except for the Choice card)
After waiting 6 days the application status had changed from pending to denied.
So I called and I was asked about personal income not joint, put me on hold then asked if I would close one of them, I said I rather not but would move credit around,
All have 5k or less CL.
He then had to ask his supervisor or manager and came back with a no , that I did not have enough history with them on recent cards.
I asked what if you go ahead and close the Choice and was still denied.
After politely hanging up I sent a secure message to close the account.

I am waiting for the letter and then I will try and call again.
I cannot remember if Barclays keeps records on my application or notes on my having called.
Anyone have experience or knowledge on this?
