TWOV Experiences?

Hi Everyone,

I'm flying IAH-DOH-SIN in J next month. Out we only have a few hours in the airport, but on the return, we got the free hotel room with the new promotion (not the STPC program, but the +Qatar program). I was looking at the Qatar web site and see that there is a TWOV option:

"TWOV (Transit Without Visa):
Holders of onward tickets for a max. transit time of 24 hours.

Holders of a prearranged Stopover Paid by Carrier (STPC) issued to those in transit for min. 8 hours and max. 24 hours are permitted to leave the transit area, if holding passports valid for at least 3 months and subject to approval from immigration."

As we have less than 24 hours on the ground in DOH, I'm wondering if we even need to apply for the transit visa (which BTW has a broken link on the QR web site). I found a couple older threads on the topic, but nothing recent and nothing for US citizens...one of the threads was UK pax.

Does anyone have any first-hand experience with this? If we leave immigration in DOH, will we just need to show our onward BP / e-ticket to prove we are leaving in less than 24 hours along with a printout of the +Qatar reservation?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
