Minibar charges even though we did not use it

Hi all,

so we had the following situation. Stayed in Conrad HK for a day in mid May on an advanced pay rate. This rate was charged long before our stay. Everything was perfect except for the fact that I've seen pending credit hanging out in my CC account but I was just sure that this is normal for it to last so long (maybe their processing for incidentals is slow).

It turned out recently that they charged us for what they claim is minibar use. The kicker is that we never used anything from the minibar and even actually bought our own green tea in 7-11 (we did open the bar though to stick it into the cold).

I reached out to the hotel and they sent me a minibar slip indicating that we drunk juice and mineral water but both of us do not recall it. How do you deal with something like this? I mean it is word against word and I've heard about things like these happening in lower ranked hotels and certain parts of the world but I'm a bit stunned that it happened at Conrad Has anything like this happened to anyone else?
