That is correct answer from the staff member. If you are in the departing passenger areas at B the only walkway you can access will be the departing passenger one which, if you walk back to T5A, will bring you out in the gate area.
Whilst there is an arriving passenger walkway you would not have been able to access it at T5B from the departing passenger stream.
