The Mandarin speaking flight attendant was assigned to coach but she came to check on this passenger every hour and also asked for his choice of meal and drinks. Personally haven't flown on UA, but I can always see at least one of the cabin crew being able to speak the language of the out-port city on long haul. I usually fly Qatar, which, of course, is a bad example given how diverse their team is. I also mainly fly in and out of the English-land.
