I once flew ORD-BRU on AA (when that flight existed). I was rebooked after my ORD-LHR leg of ORD-LHR-BRU went mechanical and I got to spend a night in the last hotel AA had a room in near ORD. The only good review of the hotel I can provide is that I saw it being torn down a few years later. Anyway.... It was a bit of a bumpy flight, as they are sometimes, especially in winter (this was November or December) so the pilot kept coming on with seat belt and other assorted announcements. Which then got reannounced in Dutch. And then again in French. I don't think I slept a wink.

I know some of these announcements were necessary, but when "seat belts please" will suffice, don't turn it into a 250-word monologue at 3:00am please (that then becomes a 750-word monologue as it gets translated).
