I would be annoyed too. It's one thing if the pilot briefly points out a sight/landmark during a midday flight. It's another thing if they're constantly interrupting. It's especially bad if it seems like the pilot's paying more attention to ESPN than flying the plane. (I know the cruise phase is basically automated, but still, it's bad optics)

Speaking of annoyance announcements, can't flight attendants do all of the promotional announcements while still on the ground for early morning flights? It kills me when I get jolted out of my nap to hear that beer, wine, and spirits are available for purchase on today's flight. Trust me, anyone who is drinking at 8am on a Monday morning already knows...
