The trick is to select the same room type each time and politely ask if you can have the same room for the duration. Some properties would stitch together the reservations to one folio preserving the rates, some would just pick the lowest and apply that to the entire stay. Some made me check out and back in, sometimes changing rooms. YMMV
My problem is I have to book through the Citi concierge to get the fourth night free, and they're unable to combine the two reservations.
