Nexus members do not in any way have 'membership' in GE - though they do receive GE benefits for the length of their Nexus memebrship. Having GE prior to this shouldn't change that - presuming the OPs fingerprints are on file and passports are up to date. Some may suggest it's a distinction without a difference, but it is (aside from the fact you essentially triple-paid, but that's another subject).

GE expiry shouldn't mean anything if there is a Nexus that is still valid in your profile - and your Nexus background check makes you trusted traveler for Canada and the US for the full duration of Nexus membership (assuming you don't do anything to get it taken away).
