OK - thanks for the comments. There seems to be a difference between domestic and int. TG flights then. A domestic TG V class tickets certainly can't be upgraded (standby at the airport); this is stated in the fare rules.

Paying THB 7180 for an upgrade to HKG o/w doesn't make sence. Promo fares are often available in J class.
