I would like to start a discussion about travel bags for backpackers (bags carried over the shoulders). Since I am looking for such a bag for quite some time now but have not found anything yet , I would like to know what the backpackers out there can recommend. Definitely looking for a cost-efficient, spacey and light version that will sustain several weeks of "backpacking".

Which brand can you recommend and what do I need to watch out for when purchasing such a bag (never really traveled with a backpack)?
