I'd suggest looking to see whether there are low-tier award seats available for the XNA-PDX trip. If there are, then you should be able to just buy the necessary miles directly from the carrier for about $250-300, if you can catch one of the frequent miles sales.
No joy looking for award tickets on that date or surrounding dates. Guess we are already too late. Dec 14 is last day of finals at Univ. of Arkansas so every student is trying to fly home for Christmas on that day or the surrounding days.
