We've done that DFW-SCL nonstop flight about 2 dozen times as a family over the past 15 years. Including with infants and toddlers. We used to live in Juneau AK and would have to fly JNU - SEA - DFW - SCL which is a REAL marathon when you have an infant and toddler in tow. DFW is actually only the mid-point in terms of time and distance.
One year when my wife was pregnant with one child and with the older toddler in tow we had a Christmas-time flight cancellation fiasco and rerouting which meant our return flight from Santiago to Juneau turned into a Santiago - Lima - Guyaquil - Quito - Miami on LAN Chile with a 4 hour layover in Guyaquil in an unfinished bare concrete portion of the terminal in the mid-summer heat while they sprayed the plane. Then the next day MIA- SEA- JNU on American. That was 40 hours in airports and planes with a pregnant wife and toddler.
So the 19 year old flying solo can handle coach on that non-stop redeye flight.
