Did you think the upstairs ones were smaller than their equivalent downstairs? I've only been on one 2-class and that is certainly the impression I got. I've no idea what size a Kipling bag is.

All the 2 class are relatively new (=< 2 years old) and the lower height to me was very noticeable.
I don't think anyone would choose a carry on bag dependent on whether they were going to sit upstairs or down so would-be upper deckers should beware.
