As long as you are able to check in right at the moment that check-in opens that should be no problem then. Remember that (almost) nobody is able to reserve seats beforehand, so when check-in opens the whole cabin is going to be pretty much empty.

Having to change seats at the gate or on board would be the very last resort, but I would not expect that it would have to get to that.
