I don't put any credence to the accusation that Qatar is financing Islamic extremism. Saudis just want to dominate the region and QR is a bit too independent for their taste. That's my admittedly amateurish read of the situation.
In practice this may make it difficult to use QR, an airline I love to fly, in many situations: obviously those involving other GCC countries or itineraries requiring long detours. So I hope this pointless mess will get resolved very soon. I would agree that QR seems to be doing a good job of handling it.
