You have a choice of 5 star hotels (or you can downgrade yourself if you wish for a different location?!?). You can either wait until you arrive and book at the VIP transfer and accommodation desk or you can book online or on the app. Just to give you fair warning, online booking does require a positive attitude and careful reading as the website isn't intuitive, but I have successfully booked accomodation every time I've flown. There is a third option and that's to visit CZ's office in downtown Auckland. I've found them very helpful, though somewhat bemused that someone would turn up in person!!! I'm curious about why you are eschewing the Pullman. With a long layover you have plenty of time to take the metro from the airport stop to anywhere in downtown Guangzhou. Once you're back at the hotel you won't have the worry of traffic/delays making your next flight. A couple of pieces of advice booking the hotel...use your 13 digit ticket number rather than the 6 figure alphanumeric booking reference; make sure you get your surname and first name in the right order and with a /. The instructions are on the page, but you do need to read carefully. Good luck.
